Security and Privacy Issues

The National Heritage Foundation values and respects all individuals and organizations seeking to donate time, money, or resources to our nonprofit projects, or "Foundations." We understand that you may be concerned about privacy issues that surround the use of the Internet. We believe that you should have control over who receives your personal information, whether it concerns where you live, what your interests are, or how you choose to conduct transactions. We're focused on helping you to help others in a secure environment. Therefore, we do not use or disclose information about your individual visits to the National Heritage Foundation website, nor do we disclose information that you may give us, such as your name, address, e-mail address or telephone number, to any outside companies, except for the use of completing a transaction that you initiate.

The National Heritage Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Therefore, any donation you make to a foundation at NHF is tax deductible.

Information About You

We may specifically ask for information about you when you make donations, start a foundation at NHF, or initiate a transaction. We will need certain information (such as your name, address, e-mail, billing information, etc.) in order to provide that service or information to you. This information will be used solely for the purposes of completing your transaction or locating the foundation to which you would like to donate. Your personal information will not be shared with the organization to whom you are donating unless you choose to make it available to them.

When you make an online donation, you will have the opportunity to keep your personal information private by electing to donate anonymously. In addition, if you do elect to provide your name and information to the foundation, that foundation will likely retain your name and may use it for future solicitations. If you do not want that foundation to contact you again, or want to make sure that the foundation you have given money to does not share your name, you will need to let them know directly.

Security

The National Heritage Foundation uses Authorize.net for all online, credit-card transactions. Authorize.net uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to keep your personal information as secure as possible. All other information gathered by NHF, for the purposes of a requested transaction, are also protected by SSL technology through our server host.

NHF Policy Changes

If we decide to change any of our privacy or security policies we will post those changes prominently so that you will always know what information we gather, how we might use that information, and whether we will disclose it to anyone. Join the thousands of people who have already started making a difference in others' lives.
